*sighs* Yeah, that wasn't very nice. Though I think Wesley didn't want the Burkles to have to know that their only daughter was not only lost to them in the living world, but in the dead one as well. I mean, that's what keeps most people sane, the belief that they would be reunited with their loved ones once they die. To be told otherwise would be catastrophic.

Though now the Burkles probably don't know if Fred is dead or alive, since Joss went postal and killed everybody in NFA. *sighs again*

I tend to think they aren't dead. Me and my friend had planned out some of a season 6 in which there was a trial sort of thing but eventually they got out.

Denial tells me that they aren't dead, that Buffy arrived with her army of Slayers at the last minute, Gunn was saved, and Willow either somehow resurrected Wes (sorry, I love him), or he went to Hell with Lilah (which makes really fun fanfics). But watching the actual episode depresses me because Joss is basically telling us that everybody except for Lorne dies. It sucks. But your s6 sounds cool. I'm continuously in awe over some of the s6 ideas people have come up with.

In ours Wesley goes to hell in Lilah's place, cuz it's ok if he's in pain, but we had to save Lilah. There is a story with that involving a changed contract and a denially explanation of why he agreed to join W&H (god I hope Jacob stopped reading this).

And Latara, he was going to tell them, he just wanted to tell them in person because what really makes Wesley happy is ruining the lives of parents (see Lineage and the 'Connor thing'). Plus Illyria is the one who lied and telling ppl that there daughter is dead when she's standing right there would just come off as a really bad joke. I'm in no way defending him for not telling the before or after, just in that one time span.
