I started watching Buffy approx. season 4, and it seems like most people who started watching at this time like Spuffy. When it started in season 5, it was very eyeroll. I didn't think it was going anywhere. Then on comes season 6. Then it just got weird. I-hate-myself-so-let's-fight-and-have-sex just does not appeal to me as a ship. I see how that can, I can go for angst!sex in some senses. But what I really really hate is when the fangirls try to be like, "OMG, they were so in love and he got his soul for her!!1111one!!!" I can't accept them as a loving relationship, or even remotely healthy, in season six. I guess I was kinda okay with it in the sense of season 7, until Chosen, when Joss tried to go twoo wuv on us.

Those are pretty much my thoughts, too, except I really did like them a lot in s7.
