A Small Rant
Nov. 16th, 2003 05:17 pmI've got a little pet peeve developing here related to ff.net reviews.
Why would someone just write a review for a story that just says, "I don't think so-and-so is gay." And besides that, the only reason given is that said character is pretty and talented (which I might just have to disagree with, but you know)?
You know, people ought to review on, I dunno, story content or writing quality, not pairings. I've read stories with pairings that make me want to cry (Jack/Serena, anyone? *sobs*) and characters in slash fic that I'm confident are not gay, but I don't write in all the reviews how I don't think so-and-so would ever be in a relationship with so-and-so or whatever.
It's mostly just slash pairings. I mean, IMO, there are het pairings that even more unlikely that slash pairings. For DA of One Hogan Place I only used het pairings but I think that Serena/Mike is pretty squicky. Makes me cringe anyway...
But yeah, just a rant for the hell of it.
